AL KARAWAN Refractories produces, normally through its franchisee operations, fireclay and high alumina bricks ranging from 30% alumina to 75% alumina. Entire production is carried out as per AKR know-how and under AKR quality assurance norms.

INSULATING BRICKS
Energy conservation has always been a major criterion in selection of refractories for process industries operated at high temperatures.
The conventional insulation bricks by AL KARAWAN Refractories through its franchisee operations under AKR's quality assurance plans. These bricks have low thermal conductivity, low density and sufficiently good strength for handling purpose.
POROSINT series of insulating bricks are specially formulated and results independent pores so as to ensure maximum insulating efficiency. This characteristic also makes these bricks suitable for hot face insulation, since gas permeation is prevented. Apart from low thermal conductivity, bricks have low density, high strength, high PCE and low iron content.
In recent past, AKR has introduced high temperature insulation bricks in the LYTE series up to a service temperature of 1800°C. The bricks retain all the features of normal Insulation bricks. The additional feature is the ability to withstand high temperature. These bricks, like conventional Insulation Bricks, are supplied in standard sizes and shapes.
All insulation bricks are supplied both in standard bricks and special shapes. Since these bricks are cut to sizes, they are true to dimensions. Packing of the bricks are done in cardboard boxes.

ACID RESISTANCE BRICKS
Acid resistance brick is manufactured by AKR under the brand name AKR AR II and conforms to IS 4860 class II specification.
These bricks are manufactured through our franchisee units under AKR quality assurance plans. These bricks possess high strength and low porosity and are based on low temperature sintering clay and fluxes. Suitable acid resistant mortars can also be supplied with AR bricks.
